Every cowboy and rancher depicted in the magnificent paintings, drawings and action filled sculptures created by the Cowboy Artists of America in their 46 years of existence, could have no better role model than Robert C. Norris, of the T-Cross Ranch in Colorado Springs, CO. Because Bob daily lives by the Code of the West and attributes of the traditional American cowboy, the members of CAA are proud to announce they have unanimously elected their friend, Bob Norris as their newest Honorary member. When notified of his new honor, Norris said he was thrilled to be part of a bunch of guys who love the Western way of life as much as he does, and who still believe that a man's handshake and his word are what really counts in this world.
Known for producing some of the best, award winning working ranch quarter horses in the country, and as a prominent cattle rancher, Norris was named the Colorado State University Livestock Leader of the year in 1992. He has been President of the American Quarter Horse Association, nominated in 1999 for AQHA Best Remuda Award, is a past director of the American Cutting Horse Association, as well as serving on the boards of many other rodeo and equine organizations. Bob's dedication to keeping the legacy of the American cowboy alive has been one of his driving forces in being a major financial sponsor of the Cowboy Artists of America exhibitions since the early days at the Cowboy Hall, during the years at the Phoenix Art Museum and now with our homecoming to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum Oct. 14 & 15, 2011. Norris has been on the Board of Trustees of that prestigious museum almost from its beginning in 1965.
